Searching for An Answer
This series reflects my journey as I desperately try to find for an answer. From yearning for an answer to creating my own choices and answers, each piece in this series tells an inspiring story.

The neon lights gently lit up the dark hallway.
Bright yet silent,
I could hear my own heartbeat,
In the silence I begin to tremble,
I closed my eyes,
Watched the darkness in silence,
Colours flood into my mind,
Forming pictures and dreams,
I shudder to wonder if my dreams will ever become reality.
Mixed media painting on canvas.

Who am I?
Where I am?
What I am?
Lost and dejected,
I wished someone could tell me an answer.
It has been more than half a decade since I’ve put on my big girl pants and let them call me the doctor.
Amongst life, death, hope, despair and joy,
I found myself embroiled in a complicated maze.
Confused and exhausted,
I think I’m beginning to lose my identity.
This is a mixed media painting on canvas.
The base layer was painted with acrylic and treated with resin. Then a layer of collage was used to form the figure, which was then painted with acrylic. The collage is protected by a layer of resin.

This piece reflects the different options I faced in my life journey.
As I stand at the crossroads,
I tried to catch a glimpse of whats beyond.
The paths often looks alike,
but the end point always differs vastly from each other.
I often wished that I could recognised the right path.

Somedays you seemed to point me into the right direction, yet somedays the path ahead is nothing but blurred.
When I thought you've pointed me the direction, I still couldn't seem to see what was beyond.
When I thought I've finally found my path, you emerged out of nowhere, confusing me even more.
I closed my eyes and embraced the fear. With an anxious heart, I put my brave foot forward to search for the answers that is buried deep beneath.

Within each rountine, there is always someting new. No day is ever the same. The repetitive puzzle patterns with different colours reflect how Monday to Sunday is just yet another day with 24 hours but they are never the same. This piece reflects my journey as I try to find what's within each rountine.
